The Process

In August 2022, we started the field investigations for this research simultaneously in a few cities across India. We had urban design/urban studies students and recent graduates who had volunteered to be a part of this project. A two-page template alongwith an introductory note had been shared with the team members. Over a period of one year, we have gathered 60 completed shade templates. We have worked towards analysing and interpreting this data and share the outcomes on this portal. 

 

We found that this investigation has helped us identify the commonalities and differences of how shade works across a few neighbourhoods in different cities. However, there is so much more to be done!
